Marilou Coombe, founder of Empowered Youth Coaching Academy
About the founder · Marilou Coombe

Helping children harness their potential and thrive.

I am a passionate educator, coach and advocate for young people. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science and certifications in a range of transformational approaches. I bring practical, evidence based strategies together with genuine care so that each coaching experience feels useful, supportive and personal.

I moved to Australia from Lebanon when I was 10 years old and I did not speak English. I know what it feels like to adapt, rebuild your confidence and find belief in yourself. That experience is a big part of why I care so deeply about helping young people feel seen, heard and capable of thriving at school and in life.

Through Empowered Youth Coaching Academy, I train educators, youth workers and coaches in values based coaching, emotional intelligence and practical ways to build confidence. My hope is that every person I support can pass that knowledge on and create a positive ripple through their family, school or community.

When I am not teaching or creating programs, I love exploring the outdoors with my two boys, enjoying good food and appreciating life’s little moments.

I am also proud to have a growing team of facilitators joining me in schools. Each person brings their own experience and care to the work while sharing the same commitment to supporting young people.
